The George R. Stroemple Collection is internationally recognized as one of the most significant collections of artwork documenting the studio glass movement in the Pacific Northwest. With holdings by such luminaries as Dale Chihuly, William Morris, Lino Tagliapietra, and Joey Kirkpatrick and Flora Mace, The Stroemple Collection illustrates both the early nascence and mature culmination of contemporary glass art making.

The Stroemple Collection comprises additional works of art united under the theme of natural history. Contemporary paintings, sculpture and photography; 19th century American paintings; Japanese Meiji objects; Native American artifacts; and examples of traditional craft are also represented the Stroemple Collection.

The mission of this unique private collection is to further collect works of art to enhance the established foci, to share the collections through traveling exhibitions, and to provide engaging educational experiences through the presentation of material culture. The George R. Stroemple Collection is committed to art historical scholarship, which it promotes through the regular publication of exhibition catalogs.
